Purpose of Meeting

We will present and educational program on the proposed lakefront development by residents in Hayes Township known as the "Law Boathouse" in Hayes Township on the north shore of Lake Charlevoix--that is not quite a boathouse but an event and dining facility that can seat 350 people, with commercial kitchen, elevator, men's and women's rooms, fireplace--all over the waters of Lake Charlevoix in a proposed excavated boat basin and channel. Residents in Hayes Township who have been actively working together to oppose these plans will present the information they have gathered and ways the public can join the fight. The public will learn how how they can write public comments at or attend (in person or virtually) two upcoming Zoning Board of Appeals public hearings that have yet to be scheduled, after multiple delays and obstructions by Hayes Township.

We recently were featured in an Interlochen Public Radio story, "The Price of a Permit" on April 15, 2022.
